I bought 6 boxes of old "bottles" for $20 from an old smelly guy who said his family had collected them when he was a kid in Iowa. The boxes were buried in the back of an old storage unit with no lights. All I could see at the time of purchase was a crock and a round bottom blob top (ships) bottle. The collection turned out to be a bit of everything: whiskeys, flasks, sodas, medicines, inks, milks, canning jars, insulators, one crock and a really cool knife blade. I sold the crock for $22.50.
This bottle is one of my favorites but I don't yet know much about cylinder whiskey bottles. It appears to me to be a bi-mold with an applied top. It is very crude glass with lots of bubbles and the bottom is not exactly round. This bottle is in mint condition.
Anyone care to add an age, where made, and a value?
