I got this bottle on sale at an antique store and would like to find out more about it. It’s a half pint clear bottle decorated with grapes and leaves on one side. It says WINE on the bottom with the numbers 7 7 and 13. There’s another mark on the bottom I’m not familiar with. I would like to know the bottle maker, the brand of wine if applicable and the age. Also, if you know these things please tell me how you determine the age. I’m new at this and I want to learn what to look for.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I don't think I've ever seen a bottle just marked "Wine" before with no company name. Might have been a generic design that different vineyards could use. That symbol on the bottom is the old Owens-Illinois logo, they made the bottle. I think the 7 to the right of the logo is the year, but I'm not sure if there's a way to be certain which year ending in 7 it was. I'd guess your bottle most likely dates to 1937, the big oval on the bottom is called a suction scar and by the mid-20th century they usually weren't as crude as yours, so 1947 seems unlikely. 1927 is impossible since Owens-Illinois didn't exist yet at that point.

That’s very helpful, thanks. I think the design has an Art Deco look and that fits right in with 1937.
