they still sell it today...it's a mouthwash.

here's what I found on Digger's site..

Hi: During a dig at our school in Buckeye Arizona I uncovered a bottle 4" high 2.5" wide 1"deep raised letters on the sides ASTRINGOSOL on the bottom of the bottle in raised letters Bottle made in USA. the bottle is clear. The school was built in the 20s and was found in the back yard of the main campus. If you have any ideas please contact me. Thank you Don Stevens

I found a listing for ASTRINGOSOL in the 1913 Druggist Circular, the product was .50 per bottle or $4.00 a dozen and was produced by the Stephenson Chemical Company, Greenesburg, PA. I suspect it was an antiseptic like Lysol.
