My son and I decided to try a new spot yesterday along a nasty area called Wild Horse Creek. We didnt go near the water, we just walked along the top of the sides where it appeared that people had once dumped trash. We found four bottles. Can anyone tell me about the embossed 7-up? All my grandmother told me was that she hadnt seen one in a long time and that it was an "oldie".

It looks like a No Deposit No Return 7 Up. Possibly 1960's or 70's. It should have some numbers on the bottom. Look for a two digit # like 70. Would be 1970. The NDNR are going up in value. I always bring home any NDNR I come across now.

Hi Krystal,
The 7 UP appears to be a version of the No Deposit No Return of the 1960-1970s. What does the rest of the embossing say? However; the others appear to be a small medicine, pill bottle, and food jar from the 30s-50s. Were all of these on top of the ground, or did you have to do some digging? Good Luck, on your next outing.

Hey Krystal, Widl Horse is a good place to look for dumps. arrow heads and fossils. Cripple Creek, Elkton and Victor are good places too. I guess any of the small towns that have been around since the 1800s and every panning creek would be.

I checked the bottom and there is a # 72. Also the rest of the embossing says "No Deposite * No Refill" and "Dispose of Properly"
Also these were all just on the top, laying there. We didnt bring a big shovel, just a small hand rake as we didnt know if we were on private property or not. Seems nobody posts anything or puts up fences anymore. We werent chased away so we are going to go back there again later this evening. Thanks for all the info. I figured the small bottles had to be pill bottles of some kind. The jar is weird shaped or I wouldnt have kept it. Again, thanks everyone. [:)]
