Hello all. I am rather new to the bottling digging world. I took up the hobby during the pandemic as mu industry (Motion picture and television) completely shut down. I am a DP by trade meaning I am the guy on the camera during a production. Anyway its been a blast to do a little research online about my area (Atlanta) and small towns north in my area. I get to be in the woods like a kid again. I read the landscape, look at old maps and then dig.
A year ago I came across some interesting finds that there is not a lot of information about some of those finds. I dug up 8 complete straight sided soda bottles marked "DOPE BOTTLING CO.ATLANTA GA." I also dug up many of the same bottle with the necks broken off. Most of them are turning amethyst in color. Attached are a couple of pictures of them. They were found with a bunch of straight sided coke bottles.
I imagine there are more in the place I dig. Once the weather cools again I will certainly find out.
