What is this bottle has a pontil , etched ship, Amethyst color ,glass stopper

It looks like some sort of decanter but I believe is quite modern. The etching on these is done with a dremel or similar rather than acid or sandblasting.

I think the bottle may be older than the etching. It was mechanically etched which leaves me to believe it is modern. Older etching wouldn't look this wonky and broken up.

Looks like copper wheel work to me. One of my brothers-in-law worked at the Steuben factory doing this when he was younger. His Father was a Gaffer before him there. I think that's where my son picked up the interest. Fortunately, our high school had a program where the kids could spend time apprenticing to various trades. My boy picked glassblowing; nice work but there's no money in it. He did make some pretty neat stuff though.
