I live on a property that use to be an old dump site ... dont no when?
Was to move from the area .... long story but we stayed
finding bottles about 4 feet deep from 1900's clay ash
But have a sidewalk leading to no-where in the backyard
My question is could there be a pvty there
If i probe i feel glass every where.....?? dig up the whole yard its BIG!!
what to do, what to do??

hey luvday if i was finding 1900s bottles in my own backyard? sure id dig up the whole dang thing, but thats just me ???!! as far as the privy the side walk that leads to nowhere could have a privy at the end, also check the back corners of the yard also what about the cistern??? have fun keep us posted

if you probe a privy you should find glass much deeper. when probing i tend to look for disturbed soil rather than glass, most is below the level that the 4' probe will reach. privys will have softer soil and it will go deeper than the rest of the yard. most i dig are 6-8 feet deep and the best stuff is in the last foot or two.
