I scored this nice early flask a couple months back, and have been trying to learn more about it lately. I came from a group of bottles dug from privies in downtown Dallas in the early 1960's. A customer of mine sold me some of the bottles. There is stil ten boxes to go through that I have not been able to go through yet. The bottles dated from the 1860-1890 period. I just know there are some killers in the other boxes.
I have been watching ebay, and have seen star flasks. None have the word star embossed on them, they are amber, and none are this old or crude. The top is very crude, lots of bubbles, stretch marks, olive glass in the neck, and some potstones. I think it is from the 1860 period.
Where might have it been made? What age to you guys give it? I know the newer amber ones do o.k. on feefleabay. Any value to this one? It is a pint flask.
Thanks for any info, and for looking!
