Crude bubbly flask....looking for opinions

I found this flask going through some of my dad's things. All he could say about it was that his dad said it was a confederate canteen. Idk about that, but on the other end of the spectrum, a different source speculated maybe European origin.

Love the bubbles and crude lip. Base has an area or rectangular roughness. Not sure you can see it in the pics.

Looking for opinions on age and origin. TIA.

Must admit I've never seen one quite like that beauty - cool top & bubble city! I do have a penchant for flasks, but mine are all of similar shape & all were labelled. My fave is an old, crude and a beautiful bubbled arctic blue. Hope someone can help you with some information on your find - congratulations!

Could this form be classified as a Pumpkin Seed flask?
