All these recent posts about NDNR bottles have got me wondering about the few that I own. I don't know much about them so I was hoping people could help me with value or any other input. Also, enlighten me, what makes certain ndnrs more desireable or valuable than others?

L-R
A&W - 12oz still full - Cap says Joliet Il, i'd be willing to sell this one.
7up - Canadian paper label, 6oz- This one is pretty cool - cap says Toronto
Fresca- 10oz "bottled by the coca-cola company"

Thanks for looking!

The same thing that drives value on everything else. Popularity, uniqueness, and scarcity. I'll give an example using the brand that I most collect Mountain Dew.

These two are your run of the mill Mountain Dew Hillbilly ND/NRs. Aside from some mold differences on the hillbilly and the full body dempling as compared to the partially dempled. These two are the most common of the Hillbilly ND/NRs. They usually bring from about five bucks and ten bucks a piece due to the fact that the Hillbilly motif is used, which is the most popular era of Mountain Dew collecting.

These are two Canadian Mountain Dew Hillbilly bottles which used the later version of the Hillbilly, the one used on the laughing pig bottles of the very late 1960's just before they went to the Yahoo Mountain Dew bottles. These are priced at $25 bucks a piece in Ayer's Pepsi book volume 2; however, most of the time I have been able to get them for around ten bucks plus shipping from Canada. Being from Canada these are of course a bit harder to come by than the American versions thus the higher price.

The best of the embossed Hillbilly ND/NR Mountain Dew bottles would have to this bottle here. The One Pint is listed in Bridgeforth's latest book for $300, which is most likely due to its scarcity. This one displays all three elements popular design, unique size, and relative scarcity.

Of course all of the above trumps the much less popular 70's era Mountain Dew logo and bottle art. The design isn't popular, they are far from unique, and they aren't scarce. With maybe the exception of the one on the left which is actually the Canadian version, but still not really worth that much. Value in reality is of course personal as well, a lot of people on this site wouldn't give a plug nickel for even the One Pint, yet a Mountain Dew collector would actually decide that ten or even fifteen dollars wouldn't be much to pay for say that Canadian 70's logo. Its all comes down to what someone is willing to pay for an item which actually effects its overall worth.

The Orange Crush ND/NRs are tougher to come by. It took me some time to find mine. Is your Orange Crush the squat version like the mountain dew on the left in the post just above yours or like the one on the right? I can't say I have ever seen a Wink or very many other Canada Dry ND/NRs for that matter so I would assume that they are in the tougher to find territory much like the Orange Crushes.

Michael Rosman's Orange Crush bottle book only lists the amber orange crush that looks like the Mountain Dew bottle on the right, and he estimates a price in excellent shape at between $25-$50.
