This has nothing to do with bottles... You find all sorts of things in these old books. In a book called, "Facts for Farmers" (1867) Mr. Solon Robinson gives 1050 pages of advice on farming, cooking, raising kids, etc. The guy is quite opinionated and long winded..it is a great read. The fellow that owned this book liked to put things between the pages...scraps of paper, plants, and even a bee.
This is one of the more interesting bits.. It is an advertising envelope. The machine itself does not seem to practical.
