I got a call to look at some bottles..the farm- house was at the end of a dirt road. I drove in and there are farm cats, dogs running everywhere- jumping up on the car....I head into a very old barn....the woman keeps telling me " watch your head, watch your step...." we walk over these ramps. around corners. ducking my head as we go...through old stalls, little rooms...finally she says..."we're here." I start looking around and I don't see anything but old milking equipment, hay ,etc. She then pulls out 3 boxes behind an old stall and says "here they are". The boxes are covered in hay, dirt, crud- you name it....she shows me 2 boxes of bottles- roughly 50- and they are common , sick, etc...not a good bottle in the bunch. She pulls out the 3rd box and shows me some bottles and tosses this blue dirty bottle on top of one of the boxes we had already looked at.The Saratoga bottle was the only bottle that I wll keep out of 75-80 that I bought. I went to get into my car and I opened my door and one of the dogs flies out...he had eaten all of the food I had in my car- including a pound of bacon....I was hoping The Champion bottle would be Ok but it was completely covered in crud. That's the story.
