Info needed coke bottle

Hi ive got a coke bottle with the rd des no 547/1937 on the bottom of the bottle and not under the logo as usually found on coke bottles .It also has no glass manufacturers mark on it only a 7 also on the base. Is this rare?

The
rd des no 547/1937
is the South Africa equivalent of the U.S. Patent number. A South African Coca-Cola bottle from the 1940's. Possibly it means the Registered Design Number 547 in 1937, which would make it from 1937, but that is just conjencture on my part.

I did find this listing for two different bottles, one with the RD DES NO on the bottom/base and say that one is considered 'Rare'. I could not find much information on Registered Design Numbers here in the U.S., try looking for that info locally.

I didn't mean to say your bottle is from 1937, that is when the design was registered, I meant to say it is from around the time it was registered to maybe 1940's. The later South Africa bottle moved the Design Number to the body of the bottle, embossed under Coca-Cola.
