Hi RJ, and welcome to the forum. You have a nice teakettle ink. It appears to have a sheared lip, so it probably didn't have a brass cap as so many did. I'm not sure if it's American or European.

Hi RJ, the pontil scar would be on the bottom. It would be a small circle of glass that looks like something was broken off of it. (Which it was). The ink you have is refered to as a teakettle ink. These are some of the more sought after inks. They are big bucks in the more elaborate colors such as cobalt, puce, black ect.ect. It's a great find. Congrats! [] Happy Diggin, Kelley
