i now what a school house ink is but this one makes me think of glue? it says THE FRY ART CO NEW YORK . IT IS BIM , NO MARKINGS ON BASE . what do ya think ,throw it in with the inks? or recycle? sam
The Fry Art Co. seems to have specialized in China Paint, oils mrdiums and brushes. They were located at No. 36 West 34th St., New York in 1899 as seen in the ad bottom right of the last page this catalog of the 7th Annual Show of the National League of Mineral Painters at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Fry Art had moved to 11 East 22nd Sy, New York as seen in the small ad headed "If You Are a China Painter" near the bottom of page 2 in the April 1906 issue of the Modern Priscilla.
There have been two finds of this bottle by members here this year: Neenerz and #1 twin.
I like that little bottle also, Sam.
P.S. Is it just me or is the forum acting kinda hinkey tonight. My "Link" button just did not wanna work earlier.
THANKS surfaceone . i did see those posts ,but they didnt specify whether or not they were inks . not much into glues or paints or perfumes either . inks i put up for my daughter . just thought charlie might like these being from new york . must be common with so many showing up this year? sam
..they are called "Hundred Year Fryarts" ..they all emerge at the same stroke of the hour, one time in 100 years.. it's another freak of nature, gotta appreciate it!
