Hello there! Just found this, amber,7 1/4" tall, round with 2 flat sides, chem. bottle.
2 of the dreaded Lea & Perrins,a marble, and a milkglass fruit jar lid.
Is this bottle going to keep it's rustic appearance, I should I have it tumbled?
I kinda like the rustic look, but condition is a factor in any bottle's value.
I've seen sellers on ebay calling the sickness on the glass a patina.[&:]
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I guess.

In the ideal world I think most bottle collectors would like to never have to see glass sickness; most don't like it. At the same time on very rare bottles many collectors also do not like them tumbled, so it's a question of two evils for some people and they'd rather just have one in original condition with no glass sickness and no tumbling.

Because your maltine bottle is so common I wouldn't tumble it. Even if you want to keep it you can easily find another one that is not sick...

If you like the sickness, I don't see any harm in leaving it that way.

I think if we were refering to Roman glass bottles, the terms "patina" and "beauty" would be perfectly acceptable...

Anybody own any? Post a pic...
