Thanks, but so far nobody has ever seen an aqua 10 sided Tiffany & Allen mineral water. Talked to Bryan Grapentine who went through his catalogs and found two sodas, but no mineral water. Gary at the Bottle museum, no luck. I can't find one with the chart you provided. I've been in contact with seasoned collectors, auctioneers and curators but no such luck. What makes it a bit more unique is the misspelling of WORKS...... STEAM BOTTLING WOWKS Guess I'll just keep looking. Thanks for the post.
Take care, Rick

Herenthere,

I would think the reason why the collectors you talked to about this bottle had not seen it before. Is simply because its a smooth based aqua 1880s soda. Being it's not an early or colored bottle most major bottle auction houses wouldn't bother to sell this type of bottle. Until quite recently most smooth based aqua eastern sodas have had little value. And even then it's usually the ones from small towns that bring decent money. Ones from larger towns and cities tend to sell for quite a bit less. If I was going to sell this bottle I'd list it on ebay start it at $5.00 and let the bidding take it where it will go.

A Brief Timeline of The Life of Louis Comfort Tiffany

1848

Louis Comfort Tiffany, the son of the founder of Tiffany
and Co. jewelers (Charles Lewis Tiffany), is born in New York City.

1878

First business is launched, Louis C. Tiffany & Co.
First stained-glass figure window is produced.

1885

Tiffany launches a production facility in Hoboken NJ which made
wicker covered beer bottles.  The bottles turned out to be so ugly
that customers immediately ripped the wicker off of them.  None are
known to have survived intact.

1892

Tiffany establishes his first plant, Tiffany Furnaces, in Corona, NY.

1893

Two large-scale Tiffany light fixtures are on display at the
World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

1894

Trademark for the Favrile-glass is registered with the United States Patent Office.

1899

The first important exhibition of Tiffany products is held in
London. Show includes blown-glass vases and bowls, pendants for
electric lights, lamp and candle shades.

1899

The first Tiffany lamp with a heavy bronze base is introduced.
Patterns include the nautilus, dragonfly and Tyler scroll.

1900

First electric Tiffany table lamp exhibited in Paris.

1902

Company name is changed to Tiffany Studios.

1904

New line of pottery, copper enamels and jewelry is shown at the
Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis.

1906-1916

A large number of gift items are added to the line, including jewelry boxes,
cigar boxes, picture frames, planters, spun metal dishes.
Retailers carrying these items include Marshall Field's Neiman Marcus and Shreve's.

1913

Company introduces a new kind of glass, Tiffany linen-fold,
which is used exclusively for lamp shades.

1919

Louis C. Tiffany retires from active participation in his
company, but retains title of President. Tiffany Studios' sumptuous
building on Madison Ave. in New York is vacated. Tiffany returns to
his early love, oil painting, and devotes time to establishing the
Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation.

1933

Tiffany dies at age 85.
While the timeline is interesteing as all heck Gunther, Tiffany & Allen was in business in Paterson in 1850, so unless he started at the age of 3 or 4 there is no connection. Charles H.A. Tiffany and William T. Allen started this company LONG before LC Tiffany was a fart in the wind to put it kindly. This info comes from my issue of Boyd's City Directory of Paterson from 1859 which places the company at 23 Fair St. in Paterson and Mr. C.H.A. Tiffany at 43 Fair St., this whole fairytale has been amusing to say the least and quite wrong to say the most.....

OOPS, sorry Gunther, I was in contact with the owner of the bottle and reread the post and was spacing out I guess, my bad....lol...

I couldn't imagine anyone thinking this was the case of it being LCT, I have the 1850's Boyd's City Directory of the town of Paterson with all the details I listed so I found it funny. I am sending him a picture of the same bottle which another collector friend of mine has so he can see it's not a one of a kind bottle worth $6,000.00....lol
