Here is a bottle I picked up a few weeks ago from a house here in upstate NY. I have spoken to some very knowledgable collectors about this piece and so far I have very little information. I will post a few pics and see if anyone on here has heard of or seen another example. The only info I have is one other long time collector from this area remembers a couple damaged ones being found around this area (Schoharie County, NY) back in the late 70's or early 80's. We do not know where these examples are right now.
This bottle is 10" tall, square, deep olive amber with more green than amber, IP. It has a small lip flake but other than that it is mint. It is embossed on three sides "Leonard's / Pure Holland Gin / New York". This bottle has the look and feel of an early Dr. Townsend's bottle. Maybe made at the same NY glasshouse?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.......
