Here are two nice local items that I acquired in the past few days. First is an early 1900s A.G.C. Dipple stoneware jug. This is a nice example that will go well with my green A.G.C. Dipple batter bowl.
This is a nice local milk bottle that I have been seeking. I had one of these that I dug about three years ago. As I was not really collecting milks at the time, I sold that one to buy other bottles, and came to regret it later (idiot []). This one is nicer than my first one, plus I got it for less than I had sold the other one for, so it worked out well in the end.
W. L. Bradford & Sons Willow Brook Dairy Lewistown, PA. I like the diamond neck grips on these. This bottle dates to 1933. Buying is fun, but I'm ready for digging season! ~Jim
Thanks, Mike. I used to think that milks were too "new" for my collecting tastes. They have grown on me over the past year. I'm still not into pyro bottles (and we have some nice ones around here), but I love the embossed ones. ~Jim
