Hello. Becca is that a crystal of some kind? Looks pretty large, did you dig it or buy it? Matt's looks like some kind of crystal formation also. I like them!

Matt, I don't know what gives but I'm one of the bottle guys that likes rocks also. When you dig a privy you always find rocks. I would bring home a big rock found in a privy and pretty soon had some of our flower gardens surrounded by them.

I've never found any kind of crystal type rocks but they are pretty. I have bought a couple of the crystal type rocks for that reason. Thanks for sharing the pics. Good luck finding special rocks or bottles!! Paul

Never disapointed when I go there. they have some in front of the mines that are about waist high, & who knows how heavy! thanxs for comenting on them.

The Coleman mines produce some nice rocks... I dont care for them to much though, they are the ones nuking all their quartz to make it look like smoky and amethyst and they chemically die them to make a lot of the new fantasy stones like aqua aura and all that junk... there the ones who started it actually!

My rock is a fluorite crystal Paul, its from Brazil though Rio, not an Illinois specimen although it looks mighty close! I had some very nice pieces from there but I sold them, I used to deal rocks. Had contacts all over the world... just bottles now a days!

I mis going to the Tuscan show real bad though...

I actually dug a quartz cluster in a dump a few months back... I couldn't believe it!

a crystal cluster in a dump dig! the best of both worlds! I don't know about their dyeing & nuking, all I do is dig them at the mines. the clay they are found in is so bad, that you have to throw your clothes out afterwards. It never comes out. but it is so much fun to find these treasures, it really dos'nt matter.

I love digging for rocks, we dont have many real good spots up here. We sift garnet in the rivers and hammer away for some drusy but thats about it. Supposed to be some good beryl around but I haven't found any yet except for black tourmaline... wouldnt mind hitting some good pockets of watermelon!
