Medicinal Vile

Hello everyone:

I was hoping for some feedback on this one. The contents are still in it, and I can see what I thought was a cork pushed down inside it, but after I got it cleaned up whatever it is protruding from the neck down into the vile is hollowed out and solid. It doesn't appear to be anything flexible like cork or rubber. The last picture shows the object inside the neck.

I have no idea what this is, age, or contents.

Can anyone help?

That's a cool something, The object in the neck is looking kinda blue on my monitor in this picture:

Is that yellow reddish area on the outside? What's that all about? What sizes is it?

More, bigger and better pictures, showing highlights, base, neck, and down neck views, please...

Thanks for the reply. I found it in Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia. I can't tell what colour the inside piece is, it is just a shadow in the liquid right now. The glass is a yellow-ish/green colour (even the neck without contents). The bottom and the neck appear to have been two separate pieces that were kinda of melted together very poorly. That reddish colour is just discoloration that wouldn't come off. It is about 3 and a half inches long and 3/4 of an inch at it's widest.

Now that it is dried out, I can see very slight light penetration coming through the inside piece if I hold it up to a light and look down the neck. I'm starting to wonder if the interior piece is glass as well, but can't imagine what purpose that would serve?!

I'll see if I can get some better pictures!
