Sorry I missed it but am looking forward to the book. Internet at the new house is lousy. The T1 line we hoped to get installed was going to be $450 per month plus $1500 deposit!!! We ended up having to go with Hughes Net as satellite system. About the same speed as dial-up. Kids are a bit disappointed that they will no longer get to play XBox online. Oh Well.

I had hughes satcom internet for a while. It beat dialup but not by much.
Download was good but upload was basically still dialup and required a separate phone line.
You get a good appreciation for how far satellites really are and how slow the speed of light really is.
Its one of the things that prevents me from moving to a log cabin in the sticks.
