Yesterday, Tom(Treasure Hunt), Bill (Druggist Nut) and myself dug a unusual brick privy. This was in the same yard where we dug a woodliner a couple of weeks ago. This turned into an all day dig. The pit was five foot around and about 12 or 13 feet deep. Pretty unusual for Michigan, most privys I have seen so far are in the 4 to 7 foot range and almost all of the time they are wood liners. We found lots of bottles, jars and other interesting artifacts. I will post some photos of my picks when I get them cleaned up. We even found a large marble toliet seat base, very unusual. It was once inch thick marble about 2 feet wide by 3 feet long. It was broken but will be very easy to restore.
