This is the only Alaska bottle I've ever seen in Louisiana. So I bought it. There is one on the bay but it is Anchorage. Is this one decent for the 10 bucks I paid for it ? 7oz

Embossing is a little weak on the bottom. Other than that it's mint. Thanks for any opinions ![attachment=image(LN).jpg]

I know very little about these bottles and their values, but it's a great bottle and the price was right if you really needed it to fill a gap in your collection.I have two Canadian one's... a 55 & 56 in the 6.5 oz size, no city. I did not know they came without the black background!..I assume the US ones also came in 6.5 oz?...and visa-versa. here is a pic. The one on the left with the better ACL I got for free last year and the other I picked up for $3.50 back in the mid 90's[attachment=Mission Bev 2.jpg][attachment=Mission Bev 1.jpg]

Super bottles! Mine's in better condition than yours, though. Nice wrecked ACL and top half missing, Lol.[8D] Is Mission still around as a soft drink company? We have a bag of Mission tortilla chips, but I doubt that's the same.

Yes! It's not too surprising, as G.R. isn't too far away, nor is this town large. Honestly, though, I try to avoid Grand Rapids as much as possible... Nevertheless, some of my oldest bottles I've found were made for there--but, they're not so pretty as my more local pieces. Heh. Click here for the link to this and two other bottles I found in the area-- I also had to find the link to recall the name of the town, lol-- during the Muskegon River Clean-Up earlier this year.
Mission City sounds familiar-- what historical significance does it have? Do your bottles tell what city they're for?

Wow that was fun dig hey!..with some great finds.Mission hmmm what can I say about Mission..lol, truth be known...nothing super major other that the name Mission City was chosen due to the site's proximity to the historic St. Mary's Mission...the majority of the land was part of the "Great Land Sale" of 1891.I've just lived here for 4 years now so I don't know too much....here is the wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission,_British_ColumbiaOh yea one thing I heard was outside of Mission 1904 was the site of Canada's first train robbery by the infamous Bill Miner! here read this.. quite the life this dude had! http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/hist/hh-ps/miner-eng.htmNo city markings on the bottles I have.

10 bucks seems pretty good for anything from Alaska in my opinion. I don't think they put the local bottlers' names on the backs of the Canadian Mission bottles. Only certain companies did that here, a lot of them (like Coke, frustratingly) used the same bottles nation-wide. Though you never know. I always thought Sun Crest was one of those companies that never had individual bottlers' names on the Canadian ones until I realized that one I had was from Winnipeg! Don't know how I missed that.
