That is one awesome hole. Great finds too, on the Litha springs and Casper jug. I dig alone so I'm always aware of cave-ins. Looks like you have the same issue as I do with all that dirt on top of the good layer. Some days it looks like all that I do is shovel out dirt. I pull down the sides to keep the walls from having over-hangs. Good luck on this dig.

Thanks to evryone for all the comments and suggestions. Thanks to ncbred for the Casper jug pics with label & handle. Thanks Kastoo; .I did not know repro handles ere available, ...I might go that route. The layer on top is all sand & dirt. I didi not get to clay/hardpan until about 12 or so feet down below the pure white wet sand(thats were all the jugs came from..I think I dug 6 or so jugs but only two had writing --the Casper & a Blum from Jacksonville. The bottles that came from the wet white sand were spectacular in condition, no ground wear, no damage, very clean. And yes, I do always chop down the overhang, but sometimes it takes 5 hours to remove all that sand before I reach the layer again. The property owner now has no trespassing signs posted and is calling the police to run off diggers, ..I never got harrassed as i was always very polite to the owner(and always filled my holes in as well), but as I said in my earlier post one jackass digger was rude to the owner and basically got me booted out as well, ...argghh. Here's a pic of me in the hole; ..I dont remember which bottle I am holding, could have been aWarner's safe remedy i dug there, still have not dug a cure version of that bottle yet...
