John W. Cope's Mt. Shasta Kidney and Liver Cure has been on my want list since I first created the list! Very rare cure. I took a big gamble because all four sides and the bottom were encrusted with marine grown. It came from the mud in San Francisco bay. I wasn't sure if the glass under the growth was damaged. I tried Bar Keepers Friend but the most successful way to clean it was a pick, patience, and elbow grease.....Ron

Hey Ron,

Congratulations on a great mountain rarity. What kinda pick work are you talking?

"28,509 Kidney and liver medicine. John W. Cope, Stockton, Cal. Essential feature: A picture of a mountain and the abbreviation and word "Mt. Shasta." Trade Mark notification Druggist Circular, 1896.

"Arrangements have been made bj' the John W. Cope Co., of Stockton, with Henry Campe & Co., as sole distributors for their Mt. Shasta Kidney and Liver Cure." Pacific Wine & Spirit Review, 1897.

I've always been a big Mt. Shasta fan.

I think the lemurs have something to do with it. [8D]

Thanks for the comments Jim and Jim. Surfaceone - I had a small pointed screwdriver that I picked the barnacles from the bottle surface. They came off surprising easy and with zero damage to the bottles surface. I was very pleased. It took a while to pick it clean as I did not want to apply unnecessary pressure and do any damage to the bottle. Thank you for the links. I like the area as well. A shame the lake has gotten so low, but it has been years since I've been up that far north. Ron
