I am sorry for posting as a reply instead of a single separate post...

Found this bottle on our swamp property along with lots of bottles I believe most of the bottles found are medical bottles but this one is a little difficult to see medicine. I will post some of the unique looking bottles found. The markings suggest Knox Glass Bottle Company 1932 -. 1952. I was wondering if anyone knows what was it used for. Markings on bottom are a J in keystone with 6 and then 292. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this group. This bottle is approximately 8 inches tall, 3 inches wide at base and 2 inches in depth. It has a mold line on each side that goes up to about 1/4 of the first ridge of the lip. Screw top. It is very heavy. Has bubble on bottle on edge. The side has some lines vertical and at ends soon me almost curves.

That looks somewhat like a lotion bottle I found (and broke) but the ridges are an interesting feature, I would say about 1950.

I'm going to assume your located in Muskoka or at least nearby in Ontario ?

muskoka dry is a ginger ale that was produced by Browns Beverages in Gravenhurst Ontario , still made today by the muskoka springs company .

your bottle is from the 40's - 50's era , by the 60's they started to use a painted bottle

I have several of those bottles that I found swimming or along the roadways here , not rare but still a neat find

it would of originally had a paper label on it , will post a picture of what one looks like in a couple minutes

ok it definitely would not of been sold in that area , so someone traveled to muskoka and brought some home with them and obviously never returned the bottles as it be too far

your area had its own ginger ale bottler , in Cobourg is bottles from a company called " davern ginger ale " and " Cobourg bottling works "
I have a clear davern bottle and is a rare painted label green 7 oz bottle too , never seen the Cobourg bottling works bottle but pretty sure one exists , also some bottlers located in Port Hope back then

be curious to see any local bottles from that area if you find any , if there is lots of stuff there its very possible you eventually find out or at least a broken part of one
