My first Dig

Hello Every one. I am new to digging and bottle collecting. I have been more into metal detecting. My brother and I found an old dump. It seems to be from the 1800 - early 1920 time period..I will be posting some photos of the bottles that we found on top of the ground. Can't wait to see what we will find in the ground..We will go back Sat.. Wish us luck!

Nice, I wish you luck. I'd love to dig again, it's been 20+ years. I noticed a dump after driving by it for about a year. I decided on a Sat. to go back but it was bad timing. The bulldozers and backhoes moved in and started a foundation 50 feet away. They wouldn't let me in to dig. Another house went in a month later.

If you get a chance, take some pictures of the dump as you're digging. I'm sure you'll find some goodies in there. Being a MDer myself, I was suprised at the number of coins and things I found in my dump! Keep an eye open for them! I recently found a nice Walker Half mixed in with the bottles!
