, This is my first post on here. I am a garage sale junkie. I do not know much at all about bottles, but I picked these up at a garage sale a few weeks ago and have not had much luck trying to find out what they are. If anyone knows anything about any of the bottles as far as date, manufacturing and type, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank You in advance!

I did not want to fill the thread up with to many pictures since I am not sure what is important to photo so if there is a certain angle or part of any bottle that is needed to identify it please let me know and I will post it.

I will post the pictures in the follow posts.

From left to right
1. says PATENT on it. Seam line goes all the way up to just under the neck finish. Internal screw threads. small blotch like bump off centered on the bottom.
2. 3 piece mold (I think) top seams go to under the neck finish. bottle neck is tilted. bubbles in the glass. round bead like bump in the center of the bottom of it.
3. no seams at all that I can find. there is an area just under the shoulder that goes continuously around the bottle that has no marks or seams. bubbles in the glass. I believe a pontil mark on the bottom its a round indention. (but I am rally confused as to what a pontil mark is. It seems that there are so many different types)
4. Dark green glass looks black. 3 piece mold top seams runs up to under the neck finish. round bead like bump in the center of the bottom, marked with a 6 and a K on the bottom.
5. dark green, bubbles in glass, I could only find one seam running horizontally just were the body of the bottle tappers in to the neck, the glass on the neck looks like it was twisted, no seam on neck finish, round bead like bump in the center on the bottom with a raised donut like ring around the the bump.
6. amber bottle with cork still in. bubbles in glass, Flat sides, no seams on the neck or neck finish, round indention on bottom (i believe a pontil mark)
7. A newer green bottle I am sure, side seams run up through the neck finish. It looks like real pony or horse hair was used along with leather and glass eyes to make it look like a horse or pony. No other markings

Thanks again for any info any one can give me!!!

Welcome to the forum Flagent1. As far as not knowing what a pontil is you can go to the Pontils Only section to look at alot of differentbottles that do have a pontil marks. There are different types as well. Once you know what your looking for you can really find some good bottles, insulators, porcelin signs etc. that can have a value of a couple of bucks to a couple thousand. Happy hunting.

Welcome aboard
Maybe since the pics are out of order I can't tell but most of the "patent" cylinders are 3 piece also I thought. All of them look nice and I do like the yellow amber whiskey. If you get some better pictures and state which base goes to which bottle I may be more helpful. The Pic 1, 2, 3, 4 etc, has me confused.
The horse wine is neat but much newer that the others. Maybe the decanter is newer also but I can't tell for sure.
