What does the embossing read on the clear bottle? It looks like a pre-prohibition whiskey bottle.Scott

Hello Lisa, I think the three pictures show a good potential collectable bottle. I think I can see a possible pontil mark on the picture of the bottom. The two pictures of bottles tell me that they are neat looking old bottles. You didn't give any listing "Of the embossed lettering on them. I have a page of what tells us about how old a bottle is, which I will try to send to you. It isn't possible yet to tell you about theri value, until I have more information. Age is identified by the details. RED Matthews

both are sprit bottles, one looks like a machine made schnapps or gen . Duch or German . the other is a sun colored whisky of some sort , 1900s I would say.

One says green bottle has pontil & one says looks machine made. Wouldn't those be 2 different time frames? LEON.

The green bottle is embossed on 3 sides Udolpho Wolfe's / Scheidam / Aromatic Schnapps, with Holbrook and Co. on the bottom. I believe it is a pontil mark on the bottom. The green is quite bright, not olivey. From what I could see it would bring in the $50 range unless the color is unusual...? I have reposted the other bottle, which I am not able to find any information about on the internet. The embossing on the clear/purplish bottle is Alexander & Paterson / Finest Quality.

Yep, there is lots of misinformation and misspellings in these posts already. Not very helpful to a new poster seeking ACCURATE information. I realize you guys are trying to help but lets make sure we help more than we hinder. Lisa, we need more information (what the raised lettering / embossing reads) and better, clearer pictures of full bottle, top and bottom with good light and a plain back ground. Jim

I tried to zoom in on bottom pic but since the original pic was so small at only 17 kb like a thumbnail pic it distorted as I blew it up. Pic below. LEON.
