I found this bottle in my parents yard some 20 years ago. Always kept it because i liked the way it looked on the window sill with the sun shining through it. The research I have done on the bottle has told me ( I think ) It is a blob top and what appears possibly to be two seams. The bottle raised letters read;

J. BEAM
PHILADA ( the last A is about half the size of the other leterres and is undelined)

Any insight on what this bottle is or its age/origin would be appreciated.

Hello, this is an old soda bottle from the later 1870s. I mainly collect Philadelphia sodas and beers and this is a name that I don’t see to often. It has a blob top on it and the style of bottle is called a “pony†soda. Philada is short for Philadelphia, PA and that town had the most sodas during that time out of any other town or state in America. I don’t have that bottle in my collection so if you ever decide to sell it I would be interested. Here’s a picture of part of my Philada soda and beer collection!
