its all good eric...its good everyone is giving it a thought... my big hope is that its real old..that would reenforce the thought that ya never know what ya might find at a yard sale..although i am not exactly rich lol..i like the idea of owning a really ancient piece of glass..not neccessarily the $$ of it...the only thing is i can look at all my nice antique stuff, but at the end of the day i still have to go do another drywall or paint job to pay the bills...long winded sorry...

Hi Dan,
I got your email tried to post here a half hour ago but had to deal with a problem work related.I believe you jar or bowl is original and could be quite old.
The tying in of the handles at the rim height of a vase or jar as in this case is seen often on ancient 3rd 4th and 5th century Roman and Persian glass particularly the Roman glass. I cant find a three handled picture on the web but the shape of these two jars is very close to yours. http://ancientglass.wordpress.com/2012/02/03/green-roman-trailed-jar/45r-green-trailed-jar-3-4th-century-2/ http://www.archaeological-center.com/en/auctions/49-306 Maybe you could send your pictures to Jane S. Spillman at the Corning Museum. Here is her contact information.

Jane Shadel Spillman
Curator of American Glass
The Corning Museum of Glass
One Museum Way, Corning NY
Ph.607-438-5270

Her email address is SpillmanJS@cmog.org A very nice lady, very approachable and she will get back to you. I have emailed her often and she has never failed to respond. Even though she is not the director or curator of the Ancient glass department of the Corning museum she can direct you to the right person.

It could be they did. I think the Egypt and everything middle east was a popular subject for late Victorian through the Edwardian period and beyond of coarse.
