That's a super early druggist...you have any photos of his New Orleans bottles? I've only seen his pontiled bottle from Donaldsonville.

I am searching on behalf of a good friend who is a descendant of Alphonse. My collecting focus is MS Coast

Second reply: I found the Donaldsonville bottle photo on the forum, lettering on bottle not legible but text says it is L. Gamotis. I am looking for A Gamotis who I understand was active 1870s - 1915 ish. The other Gamotis I think is Laurent, presumably a relative

Alphonse I believe was quite the artist! I have not seen any of his bottles but I have seen some of his paintings.

Correct, my friend his descendent has several smaller works plus one awesome large painting of a lighthouse on Lake Pontchartrain. My research indicates Alphonse may have worked at American Drug Store on Canal. It seems Laurent in Donaldsonvile was his father.
