nice day at the Norton Potteries

it was nice out so I decided it was time to get in the stream where the Norton pottery used to stand, I have been there a few times, but only as far as I can go by shore with out walking on lawns. today with river shoes walking in the water, along the banks, I found a stack of 3 mortored kiln bricks ( heavy as hell) and a locally made brick used in the kiln dating around 1845 after the pottery had a massive fire. I also found a nice shard of parian porcelain, for which another pottery located in Bennington until 1858 the united States pottery ran by Christopher Webber Fenton who for awile was partner with the Nortons and carryed on his parian experiments on that site about 1830's-40's, a waster end of a crock with the makers hand prints and various shards of stoneware clay. sorry for no pics i still gotta clean the brick it's barely legable at all.
