Here are the finds from day three. Far right were the only remaining pontiled ones left. At farthest right front, a nice tealish umbrella ink that was wedged between two boulders and survived undamaged! Behind it, unfortunately not surviving undamaged, a pontiled Gordon's Chafala Furniture Polish with more embossing on the backside than most entire pontiled bottles have. Too bad for the big hole, but kept anyway as I never saw one before. To left of these is a nice little Dr. D Jayne's Hair Tonic with rolled lip and open pontil. This was the first one out of the hole on day 3, and turned out to be the best. Found a few larger sized local meds while bringing down the sides at the end, and near the center is a Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce that is likely the oldest I might ever find with the stopper in place when found, just missing the pontil by the looks of it! Base is very crude with A C B Co. embossed.... Usually I finish a hole in a day, day and a half at most, but this puppy ended up measuring about 9'X6'X10' deep. Plus, with the slow going on day one, I was actually back on day four to make more lawn repairs as I ended up with about 25 buckets of "extra" dirt and all the rubble! Never comes out even, always too much or too little! Jack
Thanks you guys for the encouragement.....and yeah, that peppersauce IS huge at 10 3/4" tall and 3" wide at the widest point. Here are some more in situ pics.....this one of a local med, J B Brown Druggist, about mid 80's......with friends hanging on to roots, just the way we like to find 'em!
