I was in Granville NY today working and I stopped into to see a friend who opened a business recently.I did a story to give his business a plug and he was really happy with the response to the story. He is always on the lookout for bottles for me and told me one of his friends had come across the Middletown bottle at a yard sale...we worked out a fair price and everybody was happy. An antique dealer I know told me a good one today. He told me a digger he knows came across 2 WHITEHALL Saratoga quarts and wanted to sell them. the diggeer brought the bottles into the shop and started to unwrap them , from the bottom up....everything Looked great ..a yellow amber bottle and a blue Green bottle..as he gets to the lip....both are broken...they bumped into each other on the way over in the car.....a big ouch.....that's the story....
I really love that Healing Springs bottle. I had two but gave my brother one for his birthday. I see them quite often but they usually have a hefty price tag on them. The two I aquired were priced under $80.00 but the going rate is around 140.00 and up. I saw the nicest one ever at Memory Lane Antiques in Ny a couple of weeks ago. Phil had it priced at $140.00. I went back a few days later and it was gone. I can't seem to get that one out of my mind. Great Bottle.
