...but an applied tag to a saloon flask from San Francisco. The little fancy tag is stuck to the wicker by two fine copper wires. Marks' saloon was lost in the fire and earthquake of 18 April 1906. A.P. Hotaling died in 1899, but the Company that he founded in 1852 divested itself of the Cutter brand in 1903. This little clear ground screw top flask dates from the decade of the 1890s.

Here is a slighty out of focus closeup of the brass tag on the flask. It is easily read, so there is no point in my repeating the embossment.

That is cool! I really like those "bar bottles" as they made so many fewer of them. This one rocks!
