I got this about 10 years ago as a raffle type prize at one of the local bottle club's meetings, and wonder if any of you folk know anything about it?
1 gallon applied lip carboy in original box with handle. Box is marked "S. Oakman's Patent Boston, Mass." It seems that this fellow patented many bottle related innovations in the last quarter of the 19th century but I was not able to dig up anything about this particular item.
I carefully removed the bottom of the container to unleasg the bottle so I could check for embossing and whatnot. Check out the grooves going the length of the carboy:
Any ideas?
