Guessing this is made by the Port Dundas Pottery Company of Glasgow, Scotland based on the mark on the left piece. This would have been some kind of pottery piece used for holding wine - I can't find the exact maker though it was obviously "Alex Mc...". From what I can tell it's certainly before the company closed in 1932, but I'm not sure if they scrapped the Port Dundas name after it was purchased by John Young and a portion renamed Milton Pottery in the early 1880s.
