Lots of times under water cans come out pretty nice with not much rust. Underwater cans need oxygen to rust. Leon.

in some lakes is alot of aluminum cans on the bottom so not surprised to see cans wash up although being metal it rust away eventually down there

Plot thickens, found another one today. Must be later than the 60's then? (Was surfing even a term before that)
