I found it with some bottles from the 1940s. It stood out to me because the top of the bottle was much longer than the other medicine bottles I was finding, and it has bubbles in the glass.

Actually, for the sake of clarity..........it's aqua.

Aqua is not short for aquamarine.

Aquamarine is a greener color.

Aqua is blue.

There is a color chart at the bottom of this link........you be the judge.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquamarine_(color)

You may need to hit 'color' in the link.

The age, botlguy should know he was there when they made it.[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Welcome to the group, hope you stick around for awhile. No problem at all and really no apology necessary, we all have to learn. Ask all the newbie questions you need to, there are lots of knowledgeable folks here.

Well,,,,,,,, as Pat or OsiaBoyce (whatever THAT means [:D]) says I'm old as dirt. Any statement made by me is always subject to dispute so I STAND CORRECTED. I guess AQUA and AQUAMARINE are two different colors and I was unaware of this fact(?). I suspect lots of folks are unaware of that fact(?). My dictionary, which is not as old as I am, defines Aqua as:Light bluish green. It defines Aquamarine as: Light greenish blue. As Pat says:"You be the judge".

I'm glad to see that Pat has cooled off about me or has forgotten. I really am only trying to be friendly, which is VERY difficult for me, and informative.
