Here are a couple of Pratt's both of Western origin I believe, but two distinctly different molds, both with applied lips.
The smaller one on the left looks like it has a lip chip but it's just a bit of uneven "crudeness"...

Lordbud:
I see by your photos that you have the backwards "S" variant of the Pratt's. That's a tough western med to get.

I have two examples of the backwards S variant, one I got from Mark Huddleston, and the other I think maybe I got from Bob Bright from a dump he dug on Julian Street in San Jose, also a couple nice jakes came out but I'll be darned if I can get to my other box of jakes...

We hit a hole in SF a few years back that had two Abolition Oils and a clear western spice. Both of the Pratts were the earlier 60's variant; one had a long neck with a flared top while the other had a shorter neck with a more 'normal' top. How many green ones have you guys seen ?

I'd really like to get one of those one day. What would a Pratt bottle go for and are they common? I'd love to see other's if anyone had any pretty pic's.
Thanks in advance. [;)]

There are a couple of different embossed Pratt bottles. The Abolition Oil bottles were first marketed in 1868, most likely the mis-spelled variant is a PGW made bottle. These were advertised in several S.F. papers during the '67-'69 period.

There is a Pratt's New Life embossed bottle as well, generally the same shape and size. This bottle comes in a couple of different embossed variants. New examples of this bottles were found in colors not seen before the '98 S. F. dig. This product is advertised in the papers around 1867-'69 and so on.

I had one advertisement that promoted both bottles products in 1869, very interesting, both products claimed to restore the same ailments, not sure why, but maybe a new product line for marketing was needed, especially if its results weren't up to its claims.

I'd love to see some pictures of some of the "lower shelf" bottles that came out of the Big Dig in '98, spices, druggists/apothecaries, extracts.
Everyone's seen the Fish's, Redington's Bay Rums, etc.
Both of my Pratt's "backwards S" examples are aqua, one kinda "fire aqua", the other in this thread more of an "aqua aqua"[8D]

Thanks Lordbud, I'll have to find the others. My nephew married a Pratt, so I'd like to get them a bottle as I've got them collecting now since they come and seen my bottles. [;)]
