New to collection. I have some research to do on the Olla(pottery bottle),it was described as coming from Brown County In. The beer is Evansville Brewing Association with an Eagle's head surrounded by a crown with stars and hops, this brewery was renamed Sterling Brewery after Prohibition ended. The bottle was made by Streator.

Hello Tim and Welcome; We need replacement members and enjoy seeing your interest in the arts of making items of interest. The mug is interesting, I wish the picture had shown more detail of the embossed decoration.
The bottle is interesting because of the word Streator. I think it is probably for Streator IL. Because I have been there to call on two companies, as a salesman selling mold metals; one that made marbles and the Owens Illinois company that made bottles.
The bottle is interesting but I wondered where the word "/ STREATOR " was embossed on it?
Please tell us little more. Did the bottle have seams on the finish, or horizontal lines of having been tooled? What does the bottom tell you about how was it was made. Thanks for being in our thoughts. RED Matthews

Red, The mold line stops just below the finish and bottom is marked with the normal SB&G CO,or I guess I should say that is how the examples in my collection are marked so it seems normal to me.More photos to follow. As in regard to the pottery bottle,my guess is it probably from the Mississippian culture time period. Possibly what is called Bell Plain,it appears to have been tempered with shell .It was posted on ebay under decorative stoneware and not under Cultures & Ethnicities which in my opinion would have been more appropriate.
Thanks for the interest,

Tim

Thank you Tim. I saved your picture and apparently I have another file on the same reference SB&G CO. I guess this means Streator Bottle & Glass Co. Now I will have to go into further digging in my file jungle. That is unique embossing.

I just went back to the start of this and now I am even more concerned about my confusion. "Sterling Brewery after Prohibition ended. The bottle was made by Streator." This would also be SB&Co.
I guess it is just old age slippage. Thanks anyway. RED Matthews

That is a GREAT beer bottle. Has a value of about 200-300 american if undamaged. Definitely a top shelf bottle for graphics alone. Thanks for sharing.[sm=thumbup.gif]
