Hello People,
I dug this little Owl bottle a month or so ago. 3 1/4' with a tooled top. Can anyone tell me the difference between the one and two winged owls? This one seems to be holding a pedistal. Maybe a value? Thnx.

That's a nice little one-winger! It was likely a medicine, or possibly a labeled poison. The one-wing owl sits sideways, so you only see his one wing. The two-wing owl is sitting straight ahead, making both of his wings visible. The one-wingers are the older ones. The owl is almost always sitting on his pedestal, which is actually a mortar and pestle medicine crusher. As far as value, one like yours would fall into the $10-$20 range. I would like to dig an Owl, but I don't imagine there are many in the ground here on the east coast. I have a few, but had to buy them. Congratulations! Jim
