I've had this in my files for awhile but have been unable to get the "DISPLAYS" images to work. There might be some never before seen bottles pictured if I could just get it to work so I can examine - save - and possibly post what I find. I'm pretty sure it's not my computer that's the problem, but it might be. So I'd like to invite others to try it and see if it will work for you. It's safe with no risk. And if it does work, please look through the gallery and see if there are any cool soda bottles.

I am posting three seperate links, but it is the "DISPLAYS" I'm having the problem with and the one I would like you to try.

The site itself is a fantastic history of OWENS GLASS ~ ILLINOIS GLASS ~ OWENS/ILLINOIS ... especially look for the "Batch Catalog" side link that list recipes for making various colors of glass.

Thanks a lot

PS ~

To be more specific, I am trying to "ENLARGE" the various displays but have been unable to.

Thanks again.

Thanks.

I had to do some clicking around but just notified them of the problem here ...

I'll let everyone know if/when I hear from anyone and/or if/when they fix it. [sm=thumbup.gif]

If you are desperate to get the "Enlarged" photos I can suggest a rather awkward way to do it...

If you look at the page source and search for "Dsc" you should be able to find the file names. The lines that are found are for the thumbnails. To see the larger image take the Dsc file name and replace the one in the following link.

That will get you the larger images, just a bit hacky...

fanboy ~

I really appreciate the suggestion, but that stuff is totally Greek to me. Have you tried it yourself? If so, what was the result and did you see any cool/rare bottles among the displays?

Thanks.

Here's a direct link to the 1890s Batch Recipe Book. Scroll the the Amber Glass page and notice where it calls for "Oats" ... What the heck?

Nice fanboy!
Open fanboys link and in the address bar change the last numbers to one of the following. Just replace the last of the 1, 2 or 3 digits after Dsc as in these. They still aren't very big though.
Dsc0003
Dsc0006
Dsc0008
Dsc0003
Dsc0009
Dsc0012

I think that's all of them.
Reminds me of when I use to bother doing that in ebay when they first became a pain in my XXX

Call me stupid, but I don't see any numbers in the address bar of fanboy's link after I open it. But I do see them "before" I open it ... ???
