pontil?

I bought a bottle at an antique store for $3.00 that I think is pontiled. This would be a big thing for me because it would be my first pontiled bottle. It has some of Its original dried contents, 3 dead flies, and a human hair on the inside. Should I leave I this way or try any clean it? If I clean It, It will become a plain aqua bottle with a pontil. The pontil is coated in a gray unremovable film and is smooth. is it a pontil or something else?

I'd clean it and take a clearer picture of the bottom of the bottle.
I don't think it is pontiled, but without a clearer picture it is hard to tell.

Some bottles retain a patina, which is an age old coating that becomes pregnated into the glass, this type of finish is desirerable to some. Your bottle looks like it could use a good scubbing inside and out, then if there is any "patina" left on it fine.

I started to clean the bottle and noticed a burst bubble filled with dirt and I thought, thats ok it's still a nice bottle []. Then I found a chip on the lip that had been filled with dirt and I thought , I guess thats fine [>:]. Then I found what looked like a amber
swirl in the glass [] but then turned out to be a large crack filled with dirt [:'(]. I continued cleaning and a crack developed around the base of the bottle []. Then the bottle began to leak []. And after that the original hemp cord that was tied around the neck fell off [&:]. My bottle was a lemon!!!!![][][] ( I'll post some pics later).
