Pontiled Labeled New York Med Bottle $65

Any time I hear the word Laudanum I get a little sceptical.
That bottle form was commonly related to Godfrey's Cordial.
I read Jacob Messing graduated from the Philada College of Pharma in 1875. Seems a bit late to be using a pontil marked bottle.
Dont know for sure but I would want to examine it close up.

authentic or not , its doesnt appear to be an 1820s bottle. Not sure how they came up with that date.

I thought the date was off as well, but I did think it was cool.
I am not into bottles from the New York area so I do not know the history.
Interesting that he did not graduate until the 70's seems like someone may have glued on a different label.
