Couldn't resist picking this one up at the local antique market. Had a lot of nasty residue, but cleaned up nicely. I believe it is early-mid 1800's, but just wondering if this style was ever reproduced.
Sorry to say this Dan but I believe this is a modern piece blown in the historic manner. There is, to my knowledge, no historic model for it and it could have been produced by a relatively recent "Gaffer" (glass blower). Now, please understand I am not the last word on this subject but I have possessed a number of such objects. I sincerely hope I am wrong and that it's age and provenance can be documented. Jim
