Couldn't resist picking this one up at the local antique market. Had a lot of nasty residue, but cleaned up nicely. I believe it is early-mid 1800's, but just wondering if this style was ever reproduced.

Sorry to say this Dan but I believe this is a modern piece blown in the historic manner. There is, to my knowledge, no historic model for it and it could have been produced by a relatively recent "Gaffer" (glass blower). Now, please understand I am not the last word on this subject but I have possessed a number of such objects. I sincerely hope I am wrong and that it's age and provenance can be documented. Jim

Thanks for your thoughts, Jim. I agree it has a modern appearance, which made me second guess myself, but I found this reference, which closely resembles my bottle. https://books.google.ca/books?id=dr2m_rfKgKQC&pg=PA140&lpg=PA140&dq=antique+two-chambered+bottle&source=bl&ots=Lo0Al2QH3O&sig=gHtr_jugWoMpXZjw5VeVtQrX1u4&hl=en&sa=X&ei=HoucVfK7IYiXygTtwqLIBg&ved=0CDcQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=antique%20two-chambered%20bottle&f=false There is a also a fair amount of base wear, which makes me think it is not all that modern. The residue in the bottle also seemed to be fairly well aged.
