it appears to be plowed and the soil is very rooty and compact not making bottle rate survival very good...here`s a old ale pulled out we found over 50 of these and about half had damage ....
the oldest wine bottle started to poke out of joels hole and i was like holy crap, you got a old one there he said it appears to be hole the site we are at is dated to 1753 that was when the house was built.....
as you can see the grips of death was very close for that bottle the place is loaded full of roots.... he grabed it and gave it a wiggle it was packed in there tight it took him 20-30 minutes to budge that one out...
i would say that wine is early maybe 1830-40`s due to the large volume of broken pontilales and pontiled med`s i found with joel 6 broken mrs. kidders dysentary cordials from boston all open pontil ,,,,, some one was sick... here`s a couple i found almost all in one little area of the dump....
towards the end of the dig i found a huge blood amber demi john broken all in place took me awhile to gather all the glass in my bag and i found the base and top and left it for the next time i hit it here`s the base and top of the open pontil demi john huge pontil almost worthy of the shibby ashtray.......
